Every NYT Front Page

What better way to illustrate the shift in our society away from the word towards the image than with… a wordless montage of images? Data artist Josh Begley has done precisely that. He took every single front page of the NY Times since (almost) its inception and laid them out in a nervously pulsating mosaic. Speeding through over one and a half century of history in under a minute, we see headlines and articles being replaced by ever more images, and black ink being replaced by ever more colors.
