Kelly Reichardt’s cinema often depicts lonely characters in the search of something: freedom or the sense of it in River of Grass, a camping trip in Old Joy, a dog in Wendy and Lucy, the trail in Meek’s Cutoff… Her characters live on the move, going from one place to another, travelling all around the vast US territory. In this brief video essay, we take a look back at all those moments on the road.
